Unlocking the bootloader users are allowed to install custom ROMs, to make some major changes in the system, which improves the performance. HyperOS allows it but in a different way, users have to get access via Xiaomi community in both China and Global regions.

The Xiaomi team is preparing the new recruitment process and from this many issues will be solved in the near future. The HyperOS 2.0 system will allow unlocking more easy and simple to unlock their bootloaders, with less issues in the system.
